2010.08.01 N Neunkirchen - Rax (alpine meadow, 1935 m AMSL).Standing near one of the peaks of Rax mountain (Scheiblwaldhhe - on 1935 m AMSL) and looking over the Rax plateau (altitude between 1880 and 1930 m AMSL).Rax mountain isn't actually a "mountain" but a plateau with several peaks, none of which is called "Rax" (the highest one is so-called Heukuppe, Scheiblwaldhhe is among the second-highest). Here at this altitude Pinus mugo already is becoming scarce, alpine meadows begin to dominate.
